The next step is for the patient to wash the mask off at home after the prescribed amount of time has passed. The second part of the treatment will be completed at home using the home care depigmentation system.

Cosmelan® & Dermamelan® work by inhibiting the production of melanin in the skin. Melanin is what gives skin its colour, so by reducing its production, the skin will become lighter and brighter. The treatment is most effective when used on areas of the body that are exposed to the sun, as this is where the majority of melanin is produced.
The frequency of treatments will depend on your individual skin type and condition. However, it is advised to have 2-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for best results.
